But we always seem to end up with frozen fingers! Unfortunately, we just can’t help it: when you’re surrounded by so many fantastic landscapes and views, it’s impossible to not want to take your gloves off as you search for your smartphone in one of your jacket pockets and start to take pics of your absolute favourite spots.
Even if we’ve seen all of these striking sites a hundred times before, we just can’t wait to capture another picture-perfect moment in Val di Sole. So how can we not suggest the top winter places in Val di Sole to photograph?
HERE'S A LIST OF OUR TOP 5
A natural balcony at a height of 3000 m, surrounded by the peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale mountain group. When you take the gondola lift up to the top, you’ll be amazed by the view: do you know which are the Brenta Dolomites? Can you point out the Grostè mountain? Ahhhh, so that’s the Presanella mountain? Then turn around: you’ll see the Cima Vioz peak hovering above you at a height of 3.645 m.
SKIAREA PONTEDILEGNO TONALE
Just a step from heaven. A 360° view spanning from the Adamello and Pian di Neve Glaciers to the breathtaking peaks of the Ortles Cevedale mountain group. The horizon seems limitless from here and you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world! You can reach the top by first taking the Paradiso gondola lift and then the Presena gondola lift.
SKIAREA CAMPIGLIO DOLOMITI DI BRENTA
It’s one of those places that takes your breath away: you’ll be surrounded by magnificent views of the Brenta Dolomites. But that’s not all: from the area called Pozze, just above the hamlets of Ortisè and Menas, all the way to the unmistakingly beautiful peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale mountain group in Val di Peio. So, think these are enough spectacular views for one day?
VAL DI RABBI
Looking for the perfect place to post on your social networks? Likes are guaranteed in this spot, you can count on that. Walk suspended 60 m above the ground over the frozen waterfalls of the Rio Ragaiolo stream for 100 m: bet it already makes your head spin just thinking about it? Come and face your fears, you can also snowshoe up to the bridge.
Here, we’re on the sunniest side of the Val di Sole valley: from morning right on through into the evening, the sun keeps on shining on the snow covered fields and pastures. Now it’s time to take a break, sit down and admire the marvellous landscape in front of you: on your left, the Brenta Dolomites, then as you slowly let your eyes wander to your right, you can admire the Adamello Presanella mountain group.
Imagine what it would be like to photograph the above landscapes, and many others, at dawn: you’ll start your day with stunning views surrounded by the reddish glow of dawn. If you want to experience a feeling of complete freedom, this is something you definitely need to try. Don’t miss out on the TRENTINO SKI SUNRISE events, organized in Val di Sole’s 3 ski areas!
