The largest hamlet comprised in Commezzadura, Piano today is one of the major handicraft centres in Val di Sole. Rising on an alluvial slope, the village shows the marks of its ancient origins in the large houses as well as in its bridges and porches, built in the typical style of noble rural mansions.
The small church was built in accordance to the request of the canon Rossi. There is a 19th Century atrium before the entrance. On the left you will notice a magnificent wooden altar with a fret-worked frame that used to house the canvass portraying our Lady of Sorrows (1666) by the Tyrolean Stefan Kessler, than now hangs on the opposite wall.
The main altar piece with a painting of the Holy Family is by Campestrini and dates back to the 19th Century.
